Graffica would like to congratulate one of its staff, Patrick McGeever, for having all his charitable efforts recognised and being nominated as an Olympic Torch Bearer.
Patrick, along with 4 members of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, was nominated to be a torch bearer following his continued support with the NHS Sport Programme at the Trust. Joining as a volunteer in 2008 his continued support has enabled him to become a very big part of the NHS Touch Programme using his experience and qualification in the rugby field to help coach staff.
The five strong team were chosen in recognition of their work setting up a sports initiative to promote health and wellbeing among the 10,000 staff at the Heart of England Foundation Trust.
At 7.25 am on Day 45 (2 July 2012) of the torch relay, the five runners passed the torch between them along Sky Blue Way in Coventry heading towards Binley Road where it was passed over once again for its journey to Rugby. Thousands of people made the journey into the city centre, despite the early start time. Patrick was surprised to have been nominated in the first place, but said it was a huge honour to be among the torch bearers.
